2026 New Holland Construction Mini Excavators E42D

D Series mini excavators from New Holland Construction are built in-house and are designed for an improved operator experience, performance and jobsite efficiency. The E42D is a more capable, versatile machine tailored for construction crews, landscapers, utility contractors and municipalities looking to do more with a compact framework.

• The E42D is powered by a 43.3 hp (32.3 kW) Stage V-certified FPT engine, known for durability, low emissions and fuel-saving features like Eco Mode, auto idle and a reversible cooling fan to keep radiators clear and engines running at optimal temperatures. This power is housed in a compact and easily transportable package, measuring 8 ft 3 in (2510 mm) in height and 17 ft 5 in (5300 mm) in overall transport length.

• Specify your D Series compact excavator with the arm length to best suit your requirements. Length on the E42D standard digging arm measures up to 4 ft 7 in (1.4 m) and 5 ft 5 in (1.65 m) with the long arm.

• The standard arm on the E42D provides a maximum 12 ft 0 in (3660 mm) of dump height and 9667 lbf (43 kN) in bucket breakout force. If your operation requires a greater dump height, opt for the optional long arm that gets up to 12 ft 6 in (3820 mm) in maximum dump height.

• Powering demanding attachments is a key New Holland advantage.With the right attachment, New Holland's excavators can be used for a diverse range of jobs from fence installation to concrete breaking.The E42D arrives ready to run a wide array of attachments like hydraulic hammers, compaction plates, grapples and mulchers. Models are available with factory-installed couplers, buckets and thumbs.

• For contractors and operators, serviceability is a key component to weigh when considering mini excavators. The E42D includes a tipping cab/canopy for full engine access, as well as three large side and rear panels that offer fast access to key service points. Just two bolts need to be removed to tip the cab.
